MAMA KELCE'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Before starting these cookies, make sure you have the time. There is a chill period of 24 hours! Chilling the dough allows for the flour to hydrate and the fats to solidify. So when it’s time to bake, the dough will spread out slower making for a chewier cookie. Hydrating the dough will allow the sugar to break down and the flour to absorb it. Thus making the dough taste sweeter. The result of chilling the dough did make for a sweeter cookie. The taste was rich and decadent.
Overall, these cookies were definitely a hit and tasted amazing. I can see how the football players love them. Next time around there are a couple things I would add, like flaky salt to the top of each cookie. Because of the chilling period making the dough sweeter, the salt would really be a beautiful addition. I enjoyed this recipe and would highly recommend it to others.
